Prayers for the New Year from in and around our Home
Our Residents are offering these prayers as they go into the new year:
I am going to slow down this year. I want to be able to take notice of how things and people grow, even if it happens very slowly.
I want to find the positive, even when it is hidden in the negative. Maybe then I can see what God is drawing my attention to – and do something about it.
I want to live each day for itself, not mourn the past or worry about the future. I guess that means really fully relying on God.
I want to pray more ~ not just say more prayers.
This year, whatever I want to say in anger can wait. It can wait until I’ve considered it from another perspective…or two!
I am going to keep it simple this year. God first!
This year I’m going to take care of what I already have and spend less…and maybe even give more.
I want to remind myself every day that, regardless of how it may appear to others, I have an abundant life. And I’m not going to waste it.
My goal for the New Year? I’m going to give the JOY formula a try: J - Jesus first. O -Others next. Y - Yourself last!
